Hello, How nice of you to stop in!

Starr Design got it's start about 25 years ago. I have done wood burnings, plastic canvas, crocheted Christmas ornaments, needle point, you name it, I have probably done it. I didn't start doing bead work until around 1999. A friend of mine brought me a pair of her favorite earrings that had come apart. She had hopes that I could repair them. I told her that I knew nothing about working with beads, but I would do my best. I went to the library and checked out a book on basic stitches. Oh how I struggled trying to teach myself how to brick stitch. I thought I would never get it. Then it finally started to come together. I managed to fix those earrings. With that repair, a new passion was born.

My other craft supplies disappeared to the closet and my bead collection grew. I have worked patterns done by fantastic designers. Such as Rita Sova, Barbara Elbe, Sigrid Evens and Peggy Sue Henry. Soon, creating from the patterns made by others wasn't enough anymore. I brought out some graph paper and colored pencils and went to work. My Victorian Rose pattern was created on paper first.

I was introduced to computers in 2004. I was in design heaven when I found the paint program. I created circle after circle and colored them in. I finally got all of my patterns loaded onto the computer. It took a long time with this program. I eventually moved up in the world and bought a design program for bead designers. I just can't seem to get enough of beadwork or designing. I think it may have bypassed a passion and become an obsession. No matter how many beads I have, I always seem to need more.
